Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien (Austria)
THE STORY
The Kunsthistorisches Museum (KHM) in Vienna is one of the world’s most famous museums. Known for its one of the best art collections, the museum is always looking for new ways to combine modern digital art with its lavish heritage. Traditional art institutions are well aware that virtual experiences are on the rise. That’s why KHM has partnered with Joyn, one of the largest Web3 collaboration platforms. With their project “Digital Renaissance”, KHM decided to enter the Web3 space by working with digital artists and inviting them to contribute their creations to the new KHM collection of digital art.

THE CREATIVE TASK
Creating a digital artwork that would reflect the KHM’s architectural heritage while providing a modern touch. This artwork will later be converted into an NFT token format.

THE CONCEPT
The artwork named “Timeless Heritage” had been inspired by the magnificent cupola hall of the museum. A whimsical combination of vibrant colors and monochrome shades draws attention to this balanced composition. All together, it creates a captivating fusion of classic architecture and modern graphics.
Brands and businesses are constantly seeking new ways to communicate with their customers in today’s digital age. One of the newest trends is interacting with brands through phygital experiences, which combine digital components with physical objects. The idea is simple: KHM customers can purchase an NFT artwork to keep or redeem it for limited-edition merchandise, art prints, or museum tickets. That’s why the artwork has to be scalable enough to be used for marketing collateral as well as museum store products.
